STARYARDS HOSTS STAR TREK ONLINE FLEET WEBSITE: WWW.BLACKSEAFLEET.COM

It's true, www.staryards.com hasn't been regularly updated for about eight years now. I keep the site up as a resource for gamers and Star Trek fans alike, but to be honest I haven't played Starfleet Command for years. Having said that, I'm quite ford of Cryptic's Star Trek Online, and I've even founded a guild called the Black Sea Fleet.
While Star Trek Online had a rocky start (short on meaningful content and requiring a lot of grinding), I've found this game wonderfully re-invigorated with Season 6's fleet starbase projects and season 7's personal reputation system projects. There's a ton of missions now, and the devs have adopted a free-to-play model with no content excluded for players without a subscription. If you're a Trek gamer I highly recommend, and if you tried the game before the improvements you owe it to yourself to see how much better it's become...
...and if you do, I encourage you to join the Black Sea Fleet!

J.J. ABRAMS' NEW 1701 FROM THE UPCOMING MOVIE REVEALED!

Yeah, I know it's been two years since the last update...
I'm surprised this image hasn't proliferated more over the internet, but here is the new/old enterprise in all her glory. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that the old girl deserved her chance on the big screen as she appeared in the original series, but I have to admit this ship looks pretty nifty. We'll see if JJ can pull off a reboot of the Star trek franchise. Click the image to download a 1280x1024 desktop image... - Cleeve out

STAR TREK: 'TACTICAL ASSAULT' and 'Legacy' AND interviewS
This is the first real info I've seen posted on the upcoming PSP and DS. indeed, it does look like a more action-oriented re-take on the classic 'starfleet command' series. Read about it here at Dailygame.net.
As far as the 'LEGACY' intrerview: Dr. Ian again. Not alot of new information, but it helps paint a more complete picture of the game. Check out the full interview at gamingnexus.com by clicking here. - Cleeve out

Star trek: Legacy interview with creative director dr. ian lane davis @ gamecloud.com
Dr. Ian says:
"I'd say it's 'real-time, epic Starfleet battle at its best.' Picture the coolest and most cinematic battles you've ever seen in any Star Trek footage - then kick it up a few notches."
Sure sounds good, doesn't it? Check out the full interview at Gamecloud.com by clicking here. - Cleeve out

Star trek: Legacy and Star trek: Tactical command screenshots
These were released a little while ago but I thought they were important enough to repost here at the staryards. The detail on "Legacy" looks to be very promising, hope it makes the Xbox 360 and PC work hard and deliver some amazing visuals on release. "Tactical Command" for the Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS looks like it'll be a nifty trek game for the handheld market. Anyone notice that "Tactical Command" bears more than a passing resemblance to the "Starfleet Command" series? Hmmmmm. - Cleeve out

BETHESDA SOFTWARE AQUIRES STAR TREK LICENSE Great news for trek gaming fans. After a long hiatus from Trek-branded titles (due to the legal hassles between Activision and Paramount), Bethesda software has picked up the torch and has announced their exclusive rights to the trek videogaming license.
They have announced two upcoming titles: "Star Trek: Legacy" for the PC and the Xbox 360 console, as well as "Star trek: Tactical Command" for the Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS. That gives us three titles to look forward to when you take into account the upcoming masively multiplayer "Star Trek: Online" which is already a few years in development.
I'll keep you folks updated as things progress, stay tuned. - Cleeve out

STAR YARDS: RESSURECTION
Well, here we go again...
After a long hiatus from active duty, the Staryards has been recomissioned.
Hosting prices (and Staryards traffic) have both come down to a level that allows me to afford to run the site under my own steam again. Thanks to www.BATTLECLINIC.com for the hosting while the going was tough though, I really appreciated it. Great guys.
As you can see, I updated the look of the Staryards a bit, although functionality remains the same for now. Stay tuned is all I can say, more substantial changes to come. - Cleeve out

WE'RE BACK
UP. AGAIN.
Hopefully for more than two weeks this time.
To explain, the last server I was up and running
with capped out a 10 GB of transfer per month. Well, you
good folks used that up in a single week!
The next server had 40 GB of transfer a month, but they
went tits-up a week after I paid for their service. Not
so good.
Here we go on try # 3 in as many months. Supposedly I've
paid for unlimited bandwidth. Let's hope the new server
stays in business! This is getting expensive for me.
Not that I'll have as many visitors now anyway... I was
listed at the top of the search engines 3 months ago, the
Staryards has been down so long now that I don't show up
anymore. Oh well, it's a long road back to fame...
Now that were up again, I'll do some updates
though! Keep your eye on the Staryards, I'm not done yet!

WE'RE BACK
UP & PROMETHEUS FOR SFC3!
Yes! Our old server Perooz went belly-up,
so we have been out of comission for a while. I just paid
for a new server, and you can thank my lovely wife Sherrill
for uploading the staryards files to it while I was at work.
Man, it's nice to be back online! :o)
Man, I can't count the e-mails I've recieved
requesting an SFC3 version of the Prometheus. Well, you
can thank Chris Jones for converting Lord Bile's awesome
Prometheus model to SFC3. Download it in the Fed TNG section!
